Climatology of French Polynesia
1
0
Météo France and the University of French Polynesia have just published the second edition of 'The climatological atlas of French Polynesia' which reports the climate changes over the past 50 years. One learns that 23 cyclones swept French Polynesia between 1969 and 2017 and that if global warming has little impact on the precipitations, the temperatures have warmed up significantly, especially the minimum ones recorded at night. The temperature records remain however ancient since the highest temperature, 98.6°F (37°C), was recorded in Reao in 1963 and the lowest, 46.4°F (8°C), in Rapa in 1972.
