The Côte d'Albâtre (Alabaster Coast) would only be a wall of straight cliffs without its valleuses, which number 28 on the 80 miles (130 km) of the coast. They are divided into four large valleys that house major cities such as Le Havre or Dieppe. Seven smaller ones shelter seaside resorts like Étretat or Yport. Four beaches are not connected to their overhanging village, and nine valleuses are barely visible. The last four result from artificial development.
