Bien que le rêve de tout chinois soit de dormir son dernier sommeil sur la terre des ancêtres, ceux de Tahiti ont tenu à organiser sur le flanc d’une colline d’Arue, au kilomètre 4, un cimetière qui leur soit réservé. C’est un des lieux les plus surprenants de l’île. Un portique sur lequel on lisait : « Chemin du repos éternel » y conduisait.
