Church of Saint-Cirq, sitting on the cliff

0
The Catholic Church of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is dedicated to Saint Cyr (deformed into Cirq) and to his mother, Saint Julitte (Juliet). He is the youngest martyr of Christendom. The church was first the chapel of the lords of the village. It was then enlarged to become the new parish church as we know it, retaining only its Romanesque apse. On the heights of the village also stands the Sainte-Croix chapel, offering a privileged view of the medieval village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie.
