The Explorers
The white red-roofed chapel Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes on Lifou Island contrasts with the lush vegetation which surrounds it. Simple in architecture, it is surmounted by a statue of the Virgin which allows it to be identified from afar. Inside, its basic altar is decorated with colorful artificial flowers. The entire building and its outdoor well were renovated in 2012.
