Chaos rocheux - Forêt d’Ermenonville

Le grès est la roche reine du massif d’Ermenonville. Vieux d’au moins 35 millions d’années, ces blocs, formés de grains de sable soudés entre eux par de la silice, ont d’abord constitué de solides entablements rocheux.
Puis l’érosion a fait son œuvre. Aujourd’hui dans le massif forestier d’Ermenonville alternent des tables gréseuses, des chaos rocheux et des blocs erratiques semés ici ou là.
