Studio cameras and bellows cameras

The cameras of the Belle Epoque were studio cameras of fairly large formats resembling the specimen exhibited here at the Villa du Temps Retrouvé in Cabourg. They were placed on tripods. Their darkrooms were then retracted to save space and make the devices more mobile. These photographic chambers thus inspired the less bulky bellowed devices whose bellows could be completely folded up to be housed in the body of the case.
