0
The female Chacma baboon is able to procreate from 3 ½ years and gives birth to one infant, sometimes two, after a gestation of 6 months. During the first 5 weeks, the infant is unable to climb on its mother's back. It then clings to its mother's underside while the she holds it in this position with her hand. By 5-6 weeks, it rides on its mother's back, clinging to her with all its limbs. By 3 months, it sits upright on her back. At 4-6 months, it starts playing with other juveniles.
