The crucibles used to receive the incandescent glass mass are all manufactured on site at Lalique. Potter craftsmen shape them by hands from refractory clay extracted in the Bordeaux region. Once molded, the crucibles dry for a few months in a hot chamber. Their lifespan in the ovens extends over a few weeks and must not exceed 25 batches, necessitating ample production. Fatigued crucibles are replaced without even stopping the furnace.
