La centrale nucléaire de Nogent-sur-Seine est implantée sur la rive droite de la Seine, dans le département de l'Aube
La centrale est dotée de deux unités de production de 1 300 MW chacune, qui produit en moyenne chaque année 18 milliards de kWh. Chaque unité de production est composée d'un Réacteur à Eau Pressurisée (REP) et d'une tour de refroidissement (aéroréfrigérant) de 165 m de haut. La construction du Centre Nucléaire de Production d'Electricité (CNPE) a débuté en 1980.
