Celestial Fountain, the point zero of New Caledonia

Located in the heart of downtown Nouméa, to the west of the peninsula, Place des Cocotiers - and more precisely its Place Courbet - is home to the Celestial Fountain, which serves as point zero for the mileage of the New Caledonian roads. This geodesic point of Nouméa is the reference from which the distances between the capital and the other municipalities of the territory are calculated.
