To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the inclusion of the Point of Alençon on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Departmental Council - via its Departmental Contemporary Art Fund - and the Musée des Beaux-Arts et de la Dentelle (Museum of Fine Arts and Lace) of the Urban Community of Alençon proposed an exhibition Between the threads from May 19 to August 31, 2021. It allowed different artists to offer their interpretations of the renowned Point d’Alençon through works marked by lightness and transparency, two intrinsic qualities of a centuries-old lace that remains a source of inspiration for contemporary creation. Among others, visitors can observe the lace sculptures of Sandrine Pincemaille, a licière and visual artist, made with colorless threads and freed from any support.
