0
Capo Rosso, in the background, delimits the Gulf of Porto to the south. This is the westernmost point of Corsica, except for the satellite island of Gargalo in the Scandola Nature Reserve. This cape of pink granite rises to 1085ft (331m). It is surmounted by the Genoese Tower of Turghiu which was built in 1608 and long guarded by the Greeks of Cargèse.
