Cap Roussin is both the most tapered and the northernmost cape of Maré Island. It delimits the North Bay to the east. Bordered by cliffs and covered with a dense vegetation, it is uninhabited. The fishing villages of the northwest part of Maré are located further west, between Thogone and Cap Machau. They belong to the customary district of Guahma which has 12 tribes and 2,900 inhabitants.
