Canoe or kayak?

The shape of the paddles used by the paddlers to propel their boats makes it possible to differentiate at first glance canoe and kayak. In canoeing (photo), the paddle is a simple paddle with a blade at one end and a handle shaft at the other. The canoeist only paddles on one side. In kayaking, the paddle is longer and double; it, therefore, has a blade at each of its ends. In order to move forward, the kayaker alternates the strokes of the paddle on one side and the other.
