The Indian Shot borrows its large foliage, just as spectacular as its inflorescence, from the banana tree. The vigorous leaves which envelop the Indian Shot stems grow from thick underground rhizomes, like in banana trees. Green, purple or sometimes streaked, they curl up on top of each other and form a false stem.
