Indian Shots are flamboyant tropical plants mostly reknown for their highly ornamental qualities although some varieties have edible rhizomes. Their green round fruits contain spherical black seeds also called 'Toloman seeds'. They are used in the making of botanical jewelry and to fill maracas or other traditional musical instruments.
