Canard Islet, underwater trail and protected reserve

At the northern tip of Canard Islet, a 1312ft (400m) long underwater trail allows you to discover the ecosystems, fauna and flora of the Caledonian lagoon at a depth of 6.5 to 22.9ft (2-7m). Since 1989, the islet and its surroundings form a protected reserve which also includes the reef flat of Pointe Magnin, in front of the Méridien hotel. Hunting, fishing and picking plants or minerals are prohibited.
