Corsican campanile

In Corsica, the Baroque art is a major aspect of sacred architecture. It can be identified by the asymmetrical pediments, the high altars, the marquetry, the colored marbles, and also by a large number of campaniles rising from one end of the island to the other in the regions of Balagne, Castagniccia, and Nebbio. These round or square towers with arcades are often built next to churches or cathedrals.
