The construction works of Saint-Bartholomew Church in Gorbio lasted thirteen years from 1670 to 1683 due to payment difficulties. Led by the brothers Antoine and Jean-Baptiste Maluardi from the valley of Oneille until 1681, they were completed in 1683 by Valo, a mason from Belvédère. The bell tower, painted in trompe-l'oeil like the facade in 2010, is covered with red and green glazed tiles.
