Lionesses of the same clan are usually on heat at the same time. They give birth at the same period. The litters have from 2 to 6 cubs. All the lionesses of the same clan being sisters or half-sisters, they nurse indifferently the cubs of others and share their education. However, if there is an gap of several months between the litters, a female keep out of the pride until its cubs are stronger enough.
