The bay coat of the Comtois horse is characterized by a mane and tail of light yellow-silver color, as well as by light curly baleens at the level of the tendons. The forelock, tail and mane must be adundant unlike the baleens. According to the breed standards, the white markings must be limited and the coats with red hair or partly white are prohibited.
