Alveopora are corals of the tropical Indo-Pacific zone characterized by a crown of twelve tentacles adorning each polyp. As they evoke a bouquet of daisies, Anglophones call them 'flowerpots'. Their short and vigorous tentacles stand on a rather fragile skeleton and their polyps are urticating.
