Some turners use green wood, easier to work with but which warp slightly as it dries. Depending on the object, it can give interesting shapes. Logs that have already been cut into pieces tend to crack as they dry, so it is advisable to plug the ends with a sealant. On the other hand, wood cut into planks does not split and dries faster. Robert Marichy keeps his wood in a heated workshop in the winter. It is best to cut the wood in the wild in winter to avoid too much sap.
