Les pavillons de garde du Bois de Boulogne datent du temps où celui-ci était clôturé. Ils ont été conservés en l’état, à l’entrée nord.
C’est l’architecte Gabriel Davioud, proche collaborateur du Baron Haussman, qui les a édifié, comme de nombreux mobiliers urbains à Paris.
Son œuvre est reconnaissable par sa qualité ornementale.
