Biggest trees in France

The Ribeauvillé forest extends on nearly 5,683 acres (2,300 ha) between Riquewihr and Aubure. These woods are home to the largest Douglas firs in France. About ten old trees, around 115 years old, are taller than 180 ft (55 m). Europe's tallest giant sequoia also grows there and reaches 187 ft (57 m). Some trees have bark so thick that forest fires are no longer a threat to them. They can live to be over 3,000 years old. The giant sequoias imported into the Colmar region are said to be around 150 years old for now.
