Bever is a municipality in the Maloja Region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It has an area of 45.75 square kilometers. Of this area, about 15.3 % is used for agricultural purposes, while 15.1 % is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.2 % is settled with buildings or roads and 68.4 % is considered as unproductive land. Over the past two decades (1979/85 and 2004/09) the amount of land that is settled has increased by 9 hectares and the agricultural land has decreased by 41 hectares. As of December 2020, Bever has a population of 584 inhabitants. By 2013, 17.4 % of the population are resident of foreign nationals. Over the last 3 years (2010-2013) the population has changed at a rate of around 4 %. Most of the population speaks German (66.6 %), with Romansh being second most common (18.9 %) and Italian being third language (11.7 %).
