Clos de Vougeot Castle represents 900 years of history in Burgundy. In the 12th century, the rich lords of Burgundy donated Clos de Vougeot and the surrounding land to the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux. From that time on, the monks built buildings for wine production in the middle of the vineyards.
