Better suited to family trips

For touring on the Orne in Normandy, canoes are more stable, comfortable, and better suited to transporting families than kayaks. They also have more space to store equipment and bags. One can possibly stand up in a canoe, and the higher sitting position in relation to the water level allows one to be less wet there than in a kayak. As for the single paddles associated with canoes, they allow each paddler to concentrate on a single side and adapt their paddle strokes to those of their partner.
