The Besse-Pertuyzat-Montchal Nordic skiing area is located to the South-West of Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise, around the Puy de Pertuyzat which rises to 4,278 feet (1,304 metres). It offers skiers 52.8 miles (85 km) of slopes ranging from 0.6 to 10.5 miles (1 to 17 km) between 3,937 and 4,265 feet (1,200 and 1,300 metres) in altitude from the Pertuyzat cross-country ski chalet (photo), as well as a 9.3 mile (15 km) link route with the alpine ski resort of Super-Besse.
