Bee-eater, a symphony of colors
1
0
The Bee-eater is sumptuously colorful. Its description uses all the colors of the spectrum with its brown to straw-yellow back, turquoise belly, brown cap, yellow throat, wings mixing brown and blue-green with a black trailing edge. Its tail is electric blue with a tapered tip. Its black bill, long and pointed is slightly arched; it is a remarkable tool that serves both as a clip to hunt and a pick to dig its burrow. A black band surrounding its eye with red iris and a white forehead complete this wonderful palette of colors. The female is slightly duller than the male.
