The Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin now has nearly 12,000 members worldwide, divided into 36 sub-commanderies. To become a member of the Confrérie, one must submit an application, supported by two knights. The accepted knight aspirant, kneeling on the ground, is enthroned with the sentence: By Bacchus, god of wine, by Noah, father of the vine, by Saint Vincent, patron saint of winegrowers, I make you a knight of the Tastevin. He then joins the ranks of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and its famous former members such as Charles de Gaulle, Alfred Hitchcock or Ronald Reagan.
