The Blue-striped Snapper (Lutjanus kasmira) is a tropical fish called 'Taape' in French Polynesia. Its laterally compressed and fusiform body measures 0.9 feet (30 cm). It is yellow with four horizontal dark-edged blue lines. Its belly is white with brown lines ; all its fins are yellow. In adulthood, it moves in tight banks near the coasts and reefs and enjoys the passes between lagoon and ocean.
