School of butterfly fish on its foster coral reef
3
0
The different species of butterfly fish with their very diverse liveries belong for the most part to the Chaetodontidae family. Strictly corallivorous, they are considered as strict reef fish by their diet. This very advanced food specialization makes them highly dependent on the vitality of the coral and turns them into bio-indicator species of the reef. Strictly reef fish represent only 1% of the reef ichthyo-fauna.
