Back to manual ploughing

The winegrower and his horse go on their way quietly between the rows of vines. Manual ploughing takes over from the tractor, which is too invasive and dangerous for the vines. These sturdy Ardennes horses are trained to feel the roots under their hooves and to move away from them. They help to aerate and enrich the soil. They are resistant and placid. The cooperation between man and horse has never been so self-evident. Maison Marguet has returned to this traditional method which has a great influence on the soil and the quality of its champagnes.
