Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt is located on the southern side of the Monts de Vaucluse facing the Luberon mountain. The village expands south of the Albion plateau on the edge of which is the artificial lake formed by the dam. Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, dominated by the 11th-century castle chapel, developed from the year 1000 on a rocky outcrop. Several fortified enclosures were built successively in the 13th, 14th, and 16th centuries.
