The Salins d'Hyères site forms one of the largest wetlands on the Mediterranean coast, along with Camargue in France and the Po delta in Italy. Its management in the service of biodiversity relies on the Toulon Provence Méditerranée conurbation and the Coastal Protection Agency, assisted by the Port-Cros National Park and the city of Hyères. It aims to preserve and optimize the ecological and biological heritage of its aquatic and terrestrial environments while allowing a reasoned reception of the public and perpetuating the memory of the salt industry.
