At the foot of the Monte Grosso
The mountain massif Monte Cinto separates the two departments of Corsica, one on the eastern slope and the other on the western slope. The Monte Grosso is one of the peaks of the Monte Cinto. It reaches 1,937 m (6,355 ft). Six villages are established at the foot of its northern and western slopes: Moncale, Calenzana, Zilia, Cassano, Lunghignano and Montemaggiore. The olive groves in the village below are one of the economic pillars of Montemaggiore (on the shot).
