Since 2009, the former silver mine of Saint-Jean Engelsbourg is accessible in the form of a via ferrata in Tellure mining park. Throughout the site's exploitation by the miners, the main problem has been the disposal of groundwaters. To evacuate them, they built a common gallery called erbstollen that was the lowest in the mine. The veins running out, the miners had to dig up to 656 ft below (200 m), meaning that they eventually had to pump the water manually. The galleries crossed by the via ferrata extend 55 ft (17 m) above the erbstollen.
