The small town of Carnoules is home to almost 3,500 inhabitants called Carnoulais. Its population density of 137 inhabitants per square kilometer ranks it among the low or very low-density rural communities. Carnoules constitutes the center city of the urban unit of Gonfaron, which brings together four municipalities and a little more than 15,000 inhabitants. Located in the suburbs of Toulon, it is also part of its area of attraction which includes thirty-five towns. Finally, Carnoules is included within the Cœur du Var conurbation, created in January 2002, which brings together eleven localities and almost 44,000 inhabitants.
