In the heart of the Parc de la Villette

The Philharmonie de Paris is located at the end of the Parc de la Villette. Designed by Jean Nouvel, the building adjoins the Cité de la Musique (created by Christian de Portzamparc in 1995) and thus affirms the musical vocation of the park. The spaces of the Philharmonie are playful, educational, or just dedicated to walking. The access ramp to the Belvedere on the roof runs along a facade covered with a multitude of bird silhouettes. The extent of the Parc de la Villette (55 hectares, including 36 hectares of gardens) is then revealed, with the Grande Halle in the foreground, built in the 19th century by Jules de Mérindol (1815-1888).
