The great egret has a sustained, direct flight, with firm, deep and graceful wings flapping. When flighting, its long, slender neck is pulled into an ‘s’-shaped curve. It gently lands spreading its wings after a long slide, and sometimes drawing a circle around the landing area. It can also maneuver elegantly between branches and vegetation.
