The ferrade is the operation that consists in applying on the left thigh of the anouble (young bull) the sign of recognition similar to the coat of arms of the manade, and to practice the escousure (partial ear cut different for each farm). It is, therefore, an important moment in the breeding farm that can be practiced without an audience but most often gives rise to a large festive acampado (gathering) in the meadows of the manadier. The need to mark both the bulls and horses for identification is among the origins of the bullfighting games that arose from the activities relating to the work of the gardians (herdsmen).
