The Canadian Arctic Archipelago islands are separated from each other by a series of channels collectively called Northwest Passage, connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Ice-covered for most of the year, this crossing is only practicable during the short Arctic summer. Crossing it is an adventure and few are the boats which venture into this maze of ice.
