The Gruissan saltwork extends in the heart of the Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Regional Nature Park. It covers 358 acres (145 ha) between the Massif du Clape and the Mediterranean Sea in the Occitania region. In this unique setting, the fauna and flora are halfway between the two landscapes, and rare and protected species can be observed on the territory during guided tours on foot or by scooter. Only a few miles from the city of Narbonne in Languedoc-Roussillon, visits to the surrounding area allow learning the history of salt harvesting by the saltworks company.
