The Cascade des Tufs rises at the bottom of a typical reculée in Baume-les-Messieurs in the Jura department. Reculées are narrow valleys bordered by limestone cliffs and forming a dead end. The waterfall is fed by the Dard river, summer and winter alike, amid vivid nature. A belvedere above the reculée of Baume allows observing the richness of the Jura landscapes, while a hike leaves from the waterfall to the Les Rousses resort. The Cascade des Tufs is a site protected by the Natura 2000 network.
