The contemporary extension of the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar has doubled the museum’s surface area to almost 8,000 m². The building makes it now possible to show pieces previously kept in reserve, and to permanently exhibit the collection of modern and contemporary art of the 20th and 21st centuries. This collection, which focuses mainly on artists active in France after the Second World War – in particular those of the New School of Paris – has been enriched by donations and bequests, including a group of 35 works by Jean Dubuffet.
