The church of the Exaltation-de-la-Sainte-Croix (Exaltation of the Holy Cross) stands above the village of Bailly-le-Franc in the Aube. The building is one of a dozen timber-framed churches erected in the vicinity of the Lac du Der-Chantecoq between the 16th and 18th centuries. A wooden spire covered with slate towers over the second bay of the nave at 26 metres. The interior, not plastered, shows runners and posts. The choir is decorated with woodwork and a baroque altarpiece with volutes. The church contains a 12th century baptismal font, a 16th century Virgin and Child, and a statue of Saint Helena.
