The Tjibaou cultural center is made up of 10 large glass and wooden huts aligned along a central alley lined with columnar pines. This original configuration, inspired by traditional Melanesian villages, overlooks discreet horizontal concrete and glass buildings masked by the vegetation. They host permanent exhibitions highlighting the work of Jean-Marie Tjibaou and the Oceanian cultures while the temporary exhibitions are focused on the evolution and preservation of the rich Kanak and Oceanian cultural and environmental heritage.
