Pycnandra acuminata - also called Blue sap or Nickel tree - is a tree of the Sapotaceae family, endemic to the dense tropical rainforests of New Caledonia. Its particularity is due to the exceptionally high rate - over 20% - of nickel citrate contained in its sap which takes the form of a blue-green latex.
